ILLNESS DURING A CONCERT: ACTION TO BE TAKEN

Front of house staff should watch the audience and the choir at all times.

If the person requiring assistance is a choir member

If someone feels unwell they should sit down immediately and should be attended to by 1 person only who is next to them, (it does not need two). The person who is attending should discretely indicate to front of house that they need assistance. Front of house should, if at all possible, remove the person who is unwell without any interruption to the concert. If front of house believe a pause is necessary, for example for access, they should then indicate this to the Musical Director, who will act upon it.

If the person needing assistance is in the audience

Front of house will attend. If for any reason the concert needs to be interrupted, front of house will advise the Musical Director by approaching the podium and placing a written message on it asking for a pause. Front of house should be prepared to make an announcement to the audience if requested by Steven.

The concert can resume after a suitable pause.
