Thank you for visiting the Chesterfield Philharmonic Choir website. We hope you enjoy browsing our website, and that you find a lot of useful information.

We are based in the historic Derbyshire town of Chesterfield, and are currently over 80 members strong. We put on around four public concerts each year in various venues, including the Church of St Mary and All Saints - otherwise known as the famous Crooked Spire! We also hold an annual Choral Day to which everyone is invited. Please click on the appropriate links for more details.

We invite you to join our mission of promoting, improving, developing and maintaining public education in and appreciation of the art and science of choral music in all its aspects by the presentation of public concerts and recitals. (Registered Charity No 500561).

STOP PRESS: VACANCY FOR ACCOMPANIST

Chesterfield Philharmonic Choir is looking to recruit a new accompanist. We are looking for a musician with excellent skills, some experience of accompanying a choir would be desirable, but not essential. The ability to sight-read, accompany vocal warm-ups and score read are all desirable. The successful applicant would accompany our weekly rehearsals which take place every Thursday between 7.15 - 9.30 pm from September to mid-July, at Ashgate Croft School, Chesterfield. We perform 4 concerts per year, and whilst we engage professional orchestras, ensembles or organists, we would expect you to accompany us at some of these. We are a friendly choir, who seek to perform at the highest standard and offer a varied and exciting choral programme.

Please email your CV to our Musical Director, Steven Roberts at musicaldirector@chestphilchoir.org.uk before 27 October, but sooner if possible. Successful applicants will be invited to accompany at one of our regular rehearsals during the Autumn Term.
